Frequently Asked Questions

We offer membership options to anyone as young as 13-years old and older.

Anyone between 13–17 years of age is required to enroll and pass our Teen Training program in order to work out on the fitness floor without supervision. Teen Training consists of two (2) 60-minute sessions, during which time each member will learn how to use the equipment on our fitness floor, basic gym etiquette, and appropriate nutrition and exercise programming according to their age and fitness goals. Members who do not pass the Teen Training program are required to continue working with our Training team until they are deemed physically and mentally mature enough to be on the fitness floor without supervision.

Anyone 16+ is eligible to participate in a scheduled Group Exercise with adult supervision.

Anyone 18+ is eligible to work out on the fitness floor, participate in scheduled Group Exercise classes, and can also climb on our rock wall with the required in-house certification.

Joining The Energy Club is painless, simple, and fast! Our Member Services team can help you fill out a membership agreement during regular operating hours and can also help you sign up over the phone.

Contact Chris to schedule an appointment to meet with our Guest Services team to discuss membership options and benefits.

We require a minimum of 30-days written notice to cancel any membership. Cancellation Requests can be filed in the gym by stopping by our Member Services department during regular operating hours. Cancellation requests can also be emailed to Chris or mailed to:

The Energy Club
2900 S. Quincy St.
Arlington, VA 22206

Should there be any pending money due to The Energy Club, all balances must be paid in full before the Club will agree to cancel a membership. In order to cancel a membership during a commitment period, payment for the difference in dues that has accrued between a month-to-month and annual membership for each month of membership must be collected before we agree to cancel a membership. You may cancel without penalty of:

  1. The Energy Club relocates or goes out of business and fails to provide comparable alternate facilities within five (5) driving miles of 2900 South Quincy Street, Arlington, VA 22206.
  2. You become physically unable to use a substantial portion of the health club services for 30 or more consecutive days, and your estate may cancel in the event of your death. You must prove you are unable to use a substantial portion of the health club services by a doctor’s, physician’s assistant or nurse practitioner certificate, within 30-days of notice of cancellation.
  3. ou move your principal residence more than ten (10) miles from the location of The Energy Club and provide a copy of your purchase contract or rent bill.

If a member cancels within three (3) business days of enrolling in membership, they are entitled to a refund of all monies paid.

We offer the option to Freeze memberships for a minimum of one-full month up to three consecutive months, starting on the first and running through the last of each month. All account balances must be paid in full before we agree to process a Freeze request. Your account will automatically be charged full membership dues following the end of the Freeze period.

Payment for a $10 Freeze Fee will be collected on the first of each month while your membership is on Freeze in lieu of your regular monthly membership dues. This fee can only be waived if the reason for the Freeze is due to injury or illness with medical documentation provided by a doctor, physician’s assistant or nurse practitioner.

If you are currently in a membership commitment period, the end date of your commitment period will be extended to include the months for which your membership is on Freeze.

Please note that we will not agree to cancel a membership during a Freeze period without penalty. Payment and Final Billing for one-full month of membership dues is to be collected before we agree to cancel a membership that is on hold. This fee can only be waived if the reason for cancelling is due to injury or illness with medical documentation provided by a doctor, physician’s assistant or nurse practitioner indicating that you are unable to use a substantial portion of the health club services for 30 or more consecutive days.

We require each member to put a debit or credit card on file for automatic monthly payments. Billing for monthly membership dues are processed at midnight on the first of each month. Purchases made in the gym can be added to your account.

Our billing system will automatically attempt to process payment for any accrued balances from in-house purchases on the first and fifteenth of each month with the credit/debit card on file.

You may also pre-pay the upcoming month(s) in-person by stopping by our Member Services department during normal operating hours. Contact Chris to schedule an appointment to pre-pay your membership dues.

You can update your billing information by filling out a Membership Change Form. Your completed form can be dropped off at our Front Desk or emailed to Karmina. You can also stop by in-person or call our Front Desk at (703) 824-0600 to update your contact or billing information.

Rock Wall climbing and free rental of climbing equipment is included with membership. Non-members are not allowed on our rock wall. Members must be 18 or older to climb and must pass a one-time in-house certification class before being allowed to climb. The class takes approximately 60 minutes to complete, during which time you will learn basic safety and climbing policy, procedure, and tips. You may register for the certification class by stopping by or calling our Front Desk at (703) 824-0600.

The class costs $15 and is scheduled at least once per month; if you cannot make it in for the scheduled class you can book a private appointment with Tyler to get certified.

We are proud to share the Energy and are happy to offer free passes to all first time visitors. Guest passes allow access to the gym and all scheduled Group Exercise classes for three consecutive days*.

All non-members are required to sign into our Guest Register. For security purposes, all guests are also required to present and leave a valid photo ID and their guest pass at the Front Desk, which are to be picked up at the conclusion of each workout. A liability waiver must be signed prior to each subsequent visit or workout.

To qualify for a pass, guests must be 16 years of age or older to participate in a Group Exercise class and 18+ to exercise on the main fitness floor. Outside trainers are not eligible for a guest pass and are not permitted to train clients in The Energy Club or on the premises.

Once a complimentary guest pass expires, visitors who do not wish to enroll in membership can purchase a day-pass or a short-term pass.

  • Member Guest: $10 per day
  • Non-Member Guest: $20 per day
  • Seven Day Pass: $50

Purchase of a one-day or short-term pass allows access to all scheduled studio classes but does not necessarily guarantee access to Energy Spin or evening Tabata classes as those classes required advanced online registration and priority walk-in access is afforded to our members in the event a class is not fully booked.

* Online registration is required for all Energy Spin and evening Tabata classes. Please contact Chris to reserve a guest spot.

All scheduled Group Exercise classes are offered on a first-come first-serve basis with the exception to all Energy Spin and evening Tabata classes.

Due to limited space, Energy Spin and Tabata require a reservation which can be made as early as the day before over the phone, at the Front Desk or through Mind Body Online. There is no penalty for no-showing a reservation; we will simply bump the next person on the Wait List into the class if you are not present 5-minutes prior to the class start-time.

As a member, you must check in at the Front Desk upon your arrival. All members are required to have a picture taken for security and safety purposes, and to help our team identify you in the event of a membership issue or emergency.

Any purchased Personal Training sessions automatically expire six (6) months after the date of purchase. Personal Training sessions are non-refundable following three (3) business days of purchase. We require a minimum of 24-hours notice to cancel or reschedule a scheduled Training session without penalty. Training sessions are transferrable to active members, please contact Don for details.
